I can't believe I'm back home... this doesn't feel like home. I never thought I'd yearn for my cold echo-filled apartment in Germany but here I am....
I've officially been to thirteen countries! ...if you're counting the six hours I spent in France that is....
I loved every second I spent traveling but in all honesty, I'm tired. I just cancelled my trip to Munich I would be on this weekend. I mean c'mon, I've been to thirteen countries... THIRTEEN!!! :D I realized that I'll be flying home soon and I need to spend as much time as I can in my small town because I'm really going to miss it here. I'll miss everything from the buses, to the bakeries, to the school, and most of all my friends. I just want to stay home... I don't want to go home? Everything is going by so quickly! At the beginning of the month I went on my favorite trip so far! A big group from my language class all went to Athens, Greece together!
We visited the Parthenon, the Acropolis, the Temple of Zeus, and saw the (older, not new not oldest) Olympic Stadium. We even took an afternoon trip to swim in the Aegean Sea (which is warm in November by the way)! I've spent so much time studying theater and when we reached the Theater of Dionysus I actually cried tears of joy. There are some things you just can't understand until you experience them. It's nothing like reading about it. This was the best decision I ever made! Right now I'm blogging from Prague! It's so crazy to think that I went from a conventional semester at college, to a non-conventional semester abroad, and that's evolved into a non-stop adventure. I'm having the "non-conventional non-conventional" and that's still not normal with the double negative!
All of the American students didn't want to miss out on Halloween this year so we're having a party and dressing up on Monday! I'm so excited! I'm going to be Violet from The Incredibles! I thought this would come with sacrifices (obvious financial hurdles and such) but I'm not even missing my favorite holiday! Class is going great, trips are going great, and I've met the best friends I've ever had! Geez, Louise! Good golly gosh! Where am I traveling to? "Where am I not traveling to?" Is a better question. I've planned a trip (some out of Germany and some inside) for nearly every weekend I'll be here. I'm seeing and experiencing so much! I have no regrets about coming here this is such an adventure!
Last weekend I went to Belgium and the weekend before that I was in Holland. Now, soon I'll be in London! I can't believe all that I'm doing in such a short amount of time. A month! A whole month I've been here! I'm about to leave... well that's an exaggeration but it really is going by so fast. Lots of my classmates are trying to extend their stay here for another semester but I already know I won't be able to do that. Not only do I only have funding for this semester but my spring 2018 class selection isn't offered on this program. Although, there are other programs.... |
